    1. Open Settings

Click the Start button and then the gear icon to open Settings. Or press Windows key + I on your keyboard.

    2. Go to Accounts > Sign-in options

Click "Accounts" in the left sidebar, then click "Sign-in options." You'll see options for Windows Hello Face, Fingerprint, and PIN.

    3. Set up facial recognition or fingerprint

Click either "Windows Hello Face" or "Windows Hello Fingerprint" (depending on your PC's capabilities). Click "Set up" and follow the on-screen instructions.

Tip: Not sure if your PC supports Windows Hello? If you don't see these options, your PC may not have the right camera or fingerprint sensor.

    4. Look at the camera or scan your finger

For facial recognition: look at the camera while it scans your face. For fingerprint: rest your finger on the fingerprint sensor when prompted, lifting and placing it several times.

    5. You're done — try it out

Lock your PC (Windows key + L) and then try signing back in. Your PC should recognize you without needing a password.
