How to Use Todoist for Task Management

Keep all your to-dos organized across work and life with Todoist — a powerful free task app used by millions.

    1

    Sign up for Todoist

    ~15s
Go to todoist.com in a browser or download the app from the App Store or Play Store. Sign up with your email or with your Google account.
    2

    Add your first task

    ~15s
Click "Add Task" or tap the plus sign. Type the task name and a due date. You can write the date in plain language, like "Buy flowers tomorrow at 5pm", and Todoist understands.
    3

    Create projects

    ~15s
On the left side, click "Add Project" to create categories like Work, Home, Shopping. Drag tasks into the right project so everything stays organized.
    4

    Use the Today view

    ~15s
Click "Today" in the menu to see only tasks due today across all projects. This is the single most useful view — start each morning here.
    5

    Turn on email reminders

    ~15s
On the web version, click Settings and turn on email reminders for tasks with due dates. You will get an email an hour before each one — extra insurance that you will not forget.
