Go to meetup.com or download the Meetup app. Create a free account with your email, name, and a photo. Enter your city so Meetup knows where to search.

Search for a topic

Type a hobby or interest in the search bar — "hiking," "Spanish," "photography," "running." Meetup shows all the groups nearby that match.

Join a group

Pick a group and click Join. You will see a list of upcoming events. Some groups ask a few questions first (like "Are you a beginner or experienced?") — answer honestly.

RSVP to an event

Tap any event to see the date, location, and attendee list. Click "Attend" or "RSVP" to save your spot. Most groups expect you to cancel if you cannot make it.

Show up and be friendly
