    How to Use Smart Coffee Maker Apps

    Brew a cup from your phone before you get out of bed with Keurig K-Supreme Plus Smart or Nespresso apps.

    Confirm your coffee maker is smart

    Check the model name on the front of the machine and in the manual. Look for "Smart" in the name or a Wi-Fi symbol on the top panel. If not, these steps will not apply to your machine.

    Download the brand's app

    Install Keurig from the App Store or Play Store (for Keurig K-Supreme Plus Smart), or Nespresso from the App Store or Play Store for Nespresso machines.

    Pair the coffee maker

    Plug in the coffee maker. Open the app and tap "Add Device." Follow the on-screen prompts — you will press a button on the machine to put it in pairing mode, then select your Wi-Fi network.

    Customize your favorites

    In the app, pick your regular K-Cup or Nespresso pod and set your preferred cup size, brew temperature, and strength. The machine remembers these settings for next time.

    Brew from bed

    ~15s
    Put a fresh pod in and a mug under the spout the night before. In the morning, tap "Brew" in the app. Your coffee will be ready by the time you get to the kitchen.

    Some newer coffee makers — like the Keurig K-Supreme Plus Smart and several Nespresso machines — can connect to your Wi-Fi and let you start a brew from your phone. The apps also remember your favorite cup size and strength for each K-Cup brand.

    This only works if the coffee maker has Wi-Fi built in. Older Keurigs do not connect to any app.
