    Install the Honey browser extension

    Go to joinhoney.com and click "Get Honey for free." It will install as a browser extension in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge. You will see the Honey logo appear in your browser toolbar.

    Shop online as normal — Honey works automatically

    When you get to the checkout page of any online store, the Honey button will pop up and offer to search for coupon codes. Click "Apply Coupons" and Honey will try available codes and keep the one that saves you the most.

    Set up Rakuten for cashback

    Go to rakuten.com and create a free account with your email. Install the Rakuten browser extension. When you visit a store that offers cashback, a Rakuten button will appear — click "Activate" to earn cashback on your purchase.

    Start shopping through Rakuten

    You can also start shopping from the Rakuten website by clicking a store link there. This activates your cashback automatically. Cashback rates vary by store — typically 1% to 10% back on your purchase total.

    Collect your cashback payment

    Rakuten sends your accumulated cashback as a check or PayPal payment every quarter (every three months) as long as your balance is at least $5.01. You can track your earnings in your Rakuten account dashboard.
