How to Use Cloud Storage — Google Drive, OneDrive, and iCloud

Store your photos, documents, and files online so you can access them from any device and never lose them.

    1

    Choose a cloud storage service

    ~16s
Use Google Drive (drive.google.com) if you have a Gmail account — it gives you 15 GB free. Use OneDrive (onedrive.com) if you use Windows or Microsoft — also 15 GB free. Use iCloud if you have an iPhone or Mac — 5 GB free, with upgrades available.
    2

    Upload a file

    ~15s
On Google Drive or OneDrive, go to the website and drag a file from your computer into the browser window, or click "New" then "File upload." On iPhone, files saved in apps like Photos or Notes sync to iCloud automatically.
    3

Access your files from another device

    ~15s
Sign in to the same account on any device and your files will be there. On a phone, download the Google Drive, OneDrive, or Files app (iPhone) to access your cloud files.
    4

    Organize files into folders

    ~15s
Right-click (or tap and hold on mobile) to create a new folder. Drag files into folders to keep things organized. Good folder names like "Tax Documents 2025" or "Family Photos" make it easy to find things later.
    5

    Share a file with someone

    ~15s
Right-click a file and choose "Share." Enter the other person's email address or click "Copy link" to get a shareable link. You can choose whether they can just view it or also edit it.
