UPS My Choice is a free service from UPS that gives you more control over your incoming deliveries. Instead of waiting and hoping a package arrives while you are home, UPS My Choice sends you advance alerts, lets you see which packages are coming before they arrive, and allows you to redirect or reschedule deliveries from your phone or computer.
The service is available to anyone in the United States with a home address — you do not need a UPS account number or a business account. Sign up at ups.com/mychoice or download the UPS Mobile app from the App Store or Google Play.
During registration, you enter your home address and verify your identity. UPS then connects your address to the UPS shipping system, so when any shipper sends a package to your address via UPS, you automatically receive tracking notifications before it arrives.
The Delivery Planner feature shows an at-a-glance list of packages scheduled for delivery in the coming days. Each package shows the expected delivery date, the shipper, and the current tracking status. This is a useful way to see that a package is coming and plan accordingly.
If a package is being delivered when you will not be home, you have several options through UPS My Choice: you can reschedule the delivery to a later date when you will be available, redirect the package to a UPS Access Point (a local business such as a pharmacy or grocery store that holds packages for you to pick up at your convenience), or leave delivery instructions for the driver (such as "leave at back door" or "leave with neighbor").
UPS My Choice Premium, which costs around $19 per year, adds the ability to request a two-hour delivery window — so you know whether your package is coming in the morning or afternoon. It also provides additional redirect options.
The UPS Mobile app is the easiest way to manage deliveries on the go. After installing and signing in, tap "Track" to see all your incoming packages at once. You will receive push notifications when a package is out for delivery and when it is delivered.
If a package is marked as delivered but you cannot find it, check around your property and ask neighbors, then wait a few hours — delivery scans sometimes happen slightly before actual drop-off. If it is still missing after 24 hours, you can report the issue through the UPS app or at ups.com under "Track a Package."
