When you find a vehicle you like, tap Book. You'll choose a protection plan — Turo offers several levels of coverage for liability and physical damage to the car, ranging from basic to premium. After booking, the host will send pickup instructions. Many pickups are handled via keypad lock boxes or contactless. Before driving away, walk around the car and photograph any existing scratches, dents, or damage with your phone's camera. Share these photos with the host through the app to document the car's condition before you start your trip.

At the end of your rental, return the car to the agreed location with at least the same fuel level it had when you picked it up — Turo charges a refueling fee if it's returned on empty. Leave an honest review of the car and host so future renters know what to expect.

Turo differs from traditional rental companies in one important way: if you have a problem during the trip, there's no 24-hour service desk.
