How to Track Blood Pressure on Your Phone

Record your blood pressure readings in a phone app so you can share a clear history with your doctor.

    1

Open the Health app (iPhone) or Fit (Android)

    ~15s
On iPhone, open the Health app (the white app with a pink heart). On Android, open the Google Fit app, or download it from the Play Store if you do not have it.
    2

    Find blood pressure

    ~15s
On iPhone Health, tap Browse at the bottom, then Heart, then Blood Pressure. On Google Fit, tap the plus sign and pick Blood Pressure.
    3

    Add a new reading

    ~15s
Tap "Add Data" or the plus sign. Type in your systolic (top number) and diastolic (bottom number) readings. Pick the date and time, then tap Add.
    4

Use a wireless cuff for automatic readings (optional)

    ~15s
If you have an Omron or Withings wireless cuff, follow its setup instructions to pair with your phone. Now every reading goes straight into Health or Fit with no typing needed.
    5

Share a summary with your doctor

    ~15s
At your next doctor visit, open the app and show them the chart of the last month of readings. On iPhone, tap Share to email a PDF of your readings to your doctor.

Tracking your blood pressure over time helps you and your doctor see patterns — like whether it is higher in the morning or after salty meals. A phone app makes this much easier than a paper log.

Apple Health (on iPhone) and Google Fit (on Android) both track blood pressure. Some wireless cuffs from brands like Omron and Withings send the reading directly to your phone.
