    Set up the charging dock

    A robot vacuum cleans floors automatically, navigating around furniture and along baseboards. Popular brands include Roomba (iRobot), Roborock, Shark, and Ecovacs. Once set up, schedule it to clean daily or start it from your phone.

    Place the charging dock against a wall on a hard floor with 1.5 feet of clearance on each side and 4 feet in front. Plug it in and place the robot on the dock to charge fully (2-3 hours).

    Download the manufacturer's app (iRobot Home for Roomba, Roborock, etc.), create an account, and tap "Add a Robot." The app guides you through WiFi connection — usually hold a button on the robot until it beeps, then enter your WiFi password in the app.

    Before the first run, pick up loose items from the floor — charging cables, socks, shoelaces, and small toys can tangle in the brushes. Tuck cords behind furniture.

    Tap "Clean" in the app or press the button on top. The robot maps your home during the first few runs and gets more efficient over time. Set a cleaning schedule (like weekdays at 10 AM) so it cleans automatically while you are out.
