Microsoft Teams is a communication app for video calls, messaging, and file sharing. While many people use it for work, the free personal version is also great for family and friends. It works on phones, tablets, and computers.

Download Microsoft Teams from the App Store, Google Play Store, or teams.microsoft.com. Sign in with your Microsoft account (the same one you use for Outlook, Hotmail, or Xbox). If you do not have a Microsoft account, create one for free.

For a video call: tap "Chat" → the new chat icon → type the person's name, email, or phone number → send them a message → then tap the video camera icon at the top to start a video call. Or tap "Calendar" → "Meet Now" to create an instant meeting link you can share.

For group conversations: create a group chat by adding multiple people. Everyone in the group can message, share files, and start group video calls.

Teams also lets you share files — tap the paperclip in a chat to send photos, documents, or other files. Shared files are stored in the chat history so anyone in the conversation can access them later.

For scheduling calls: tap "Calendar" → "New Meeting" → set a date and time → add participants by email. They receive an invitation with a link to join.
