Apple Pay (iPhone) and Google Pay (Android) let you pay at stores by holding your phone near the card reader. Look for the contactless payment symbol (sideways WiFi icon) at checkout. These are safer than physical cards — your real card number is never transmitted to the merchant.
For iPhone: open the Wallet app, tap "+," scan your card or enter numbers manually. Your bank verifies the card with a code. To pay: double-click the side button (Face ID) or rest your finger on Home button (Touch ID) while holding near the reader.
For Android: download Google Wallet from Play Store, tap "Add to Wallet" → "Payment card," and enter card info. Your bank sends a verification code. To pay: unlock your phone and hold it near the reader.
You can add multiple cards and set a default for everyday purchases. Switch cards at payment time if needed. Contactless payments work at millions of stores, restaurants, and vending machines.
