Sending photos by text message is one of the most common things people do on their phones. Here is how to do it on both iPhone and Android.

On iPhone: open the Messages app and start a new conversation or open an existing one. Tap the "+" or camera icon next to the text field. Choose "Photos" to select from your photo library, or "Camera" to take a new photo. Select the photos you want to send (you can select multiple), tap "Add," then tap the blue send arrow.

On Android: open your messaging app and start or open a conversation. Tap the attachment icon (paperclip or "+") next to the text field. Select "Gallery" or "Photos" to choose from your library, or "Camera" to take a new one. Select photos and tap "Send."

Note about photo quality: when you send photos by regular text message (SMS/MMS), the quality is reduced to fit the file size limit. For full-quality photos, use iMessage (iPhone-to-iPhone, blue bubbles keep full quality), email, or an app like WhatsApp or Google Photos sharing.

To send multiple photos at once, select several before sending. Most messaging apps let you choose multiple photos in one message. For very large batches (like vacation photos), consider creating a shared album in Google Photos or iCloud instead.
