How to Find a Lost Samsung Galaxy Phone

Samsung's Find My Mobile lets you locate, lock, or remotely wipe a lost or stolen Samsung Galaxy phone using any web browser.

    1

Enable Find My Mobile on your Samsung phone

    ~23s
On your Samsung Galaxy phone, go to SettingsBiometrics and SecurityFind My Mobile. Make sure the toggle is turned On. If prompted, sign into your Samsung account. Also confirm that "Remote unlock," "Send last location," and "Offline finding" are enabled.

    Quick Tip

While you're in Find My Mobile settings, test the setup by tapping "Log in to Samsung account" to verify your account is connected.

    2

If your phone is lost: go to Find My Mobile

    ~15s
From any computer or phone, open a browser and go to findmymobile.samsung.com. Sign in with the same Samsung account that's on your lost phone. You'll see your Samsung devices listed on the left side. Click on your lost phone.
    3

Locate your phone on the map

    ~16s
The website shows your phone's last known location on a map. The green circle indicates the accuracy of the location. If the phone is actively connected to the internet, the location updates in real time. If offline, it shows the last location before it went offline.
    4

    Ring the phone

    ~19s
If you think your phone is nearby (lost at home, dropped in a car, etc.), click "Ring" in the Find My Mobile panel. The phone will ring at full volume for 60 seconds — even if it's on silent or set to vibrate. This can help you locate a phone that slipped under couch cushions or into a bag.
    5

    Lock or wipe if necessary

    ~30s
If you believe the phone was stolen, click "Lock" to lock it remotely with a custom PIN and message (like "Lost phone — please call 555-1234"). If you need to protect sensitive data, click "Erase Data" to factory reset the phone remotely — this erases everything. Only do this as a last resort since it can't be undone.

    Warning

Remote wipe permanently deletes all data on the phone. Do this only if you're certain the phone is stolen and you've already backed up your data, or if the phone contains sensitive information that must be protected.

Samsung's Find My Mobile is a free service for Samsung Galaxy phone owners that lets you locate, remotely lock, or wipe your phone if it's lost or stolen. It's built into all Samsung Galaxy phones and can be accessed from any computer browser or secondary phone.

Find My Mobile is different from Google's "Find My Device" — while both can locate a phone, Samsung's service offers additional features like ringing the phone at full volume even if it's on silent, locking with a custom message, and backing up data to Samsung Cloud before a remote wipe.

The service is free and comes pre-installed on all Samsung Galaxy phones. You just need a Samsung account (free) set up on your phone, and location services enabled.

It's important to set this up before you need it — once a phone is lost, you can't enable Find My Mobile remotely. Take a few minutes to confirm it's active on your Samsung device today.

If you have a non-Samsung Android phone, use Google's Find My Device at google.com/find.
