Notion is a popular app for taking notes, organizing projects, and managing information. Notion AI adds an artificial intelligence writing assistant built right into your existing Notion pages — you do not need to switch to a separate app or copy and paste text anywhere.
With Notion AI, you can ask it to write a first draft of something for you, improve text you have already written, make a long document shorter, translate text into another language, or summarize a page full of notes into a few key bullet points.
Notion AI is an add-on feature that costs extra beyond the regular Notion plan. As of early 2026, it costs $10 per month per member on top of your Notion subscription. If you are on a free Notion plan, you get a limited number of free AI uses before being asked to pay. The add-on is available to both individual and team Notion accounts.
Notion AI works wherever you are writing in Notion. You can invoke it with a keyboard shortcut (press the Space bar on an empty line, or type a forward slash "/" and choose an AI option from the menu that appears). You can also highlight existing text and ask AI to do something with it.
One of the most powerful uses is asking Notion AI questions about content already in your page. For example, if you have a long page of meeting notes, you can ask "What are the main decisions from this meeting?" and Notion AI will read your notes and give you an answer. This works well for anyone who keeps a lot of information in Notion and wants to find or summarize it quickly.
