Microsoft To Do is a free task management app that helps you keep track of things you need to do. It replaces the older Wunderlist app and is now one of Microsoft's most popular productivity tools. Unlike some advanced project management software, To Do is designed to be simple and approachable.
You can create multiple lists — Groceries, Errands, Doctor Questions, Home Repairs — and add tasks to each one. Each task can have a due date, a reminder, a note, and subtasks. The My Day feature shows tasks due today and lets you manually add other tasks to focus on.
Microsoft To Do syncs across all your devices through your Microsoft account. If you create a task on your phone, it will appear on your Windows computer and vice versa. You can also share lists with another person — useful for sharing a grocery list with a spouse or organizing a joint project.
For Windows users, To Do integrates directly with Outlook and Microsoft 365. Any flagged emails in Outlook automatically appear in To Do's "Flagged Email" smart list. This makes it useful as a central place for everything you need to act on.
The app is completely free for personal use. A Microsoft account (a free outlook.com email or an existing one) is all you need to get started.
