Quick Tip: The person setting up the Circle is the Circle Admin. The admin can rename the Circle, add or remove members, and change settings for the group.

Life360 requires location permission to work. When the app asks to access location, each family member should choose Allow All the Time so that their location stays updated even when the app is not open. Without this permission, the app cannot share their location.

Life360 is a family safety app that shows the location of family members on a shared map — all in real time. If you want to know that your teenager arrived safely at school, that your elderly parent made it home from an appointment, or just where your spouse is when they are running late, Life360 makes that information available from your phone.
Here is how it works: each family member installs the Life360 app on their phone and joins a shared group called a Circle. Once everyone is in the Circle, you can open the app at any time and see a map with each person's location shown as a photo bubble. You can tap a person's name to see their exact address, how fast they are moving, and how much battery their phone has.
Life360 also sends you automatic notifications — called Place Alerts — when a family member arrives at or leaves from a saved location like home, school, or a family member's house. You do not have to check the app constantly; it will alert you automatically.
The free version of Life360 includes real-time location sharing, Place Alerts, and a two-day location history so you can see where someone was earlier in the day. A paid membership adds features like crash detection, roadside assistance, and stolen phone protection — but those are entirely optional.
All family members must agree to be in the Circle and must install the app themselves. Life360 works on both iPhone and Android, so family members do not all need the same type of phone. Location sharing is completely transparent — everyone in the Circle can see everyone else, and you can see if location sharing is turned off by a member.
