Mirroring your iPhone to your TV lets everyone in the room see what's on your phone screen — photos, videos, apps, video calls, and more. There are two main ways to do this: wirelessly using AirPlay, or with a cable.
AirPlay is Apple's wireless technology for streaming content to a TV. It works with Apple TV (the streaming box), AirPlay 2-compatible smart TVs (including most Samsung, LG, and Sony TVs made after 2018), and some Roku devices. When your iPhone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi network, you can wirelessly send your screen to the TV in a few taps.
If your TV is older or doesn't support AirPlay, a Lightning to HDMI adapter (for older iPhones) or a USB-C to HDMI adapter (for iPhone 15 and newer) plugged into your TV works equally well with no Wi-Fi required.
Screen mirroring is great for showing vacation photos on the big screen, video calling family on the TV, sharing a recipe while cooking, helping a family member with their phone by showing your screen, and more.
