Google Maps lets you save any location to your personal lists so you can find it again without searching. You can save places to a "Favorites" list, a "Want to go" list, a custom "Starred places" list, or create your own named lists.

Saving places is great for: your doctor's office (so you always have directions ready), restaurants you want to try, your favorite coffee shop, a friend's address, a park you discovered, or any place you plan to return to.

Saved places sync across all your devices. Save a restaurant on your phone and it appears on the Google Maps website on your computer — and vice versa.

You can also create custom lists for different purposes: "Family Restaurants," "Doctor Offices," "Places to Visit on Vacation," or anything else. Share lists with family members so you can coordinate on places together.

Starred places are the simplest — a star symbol marks the location on the map so it is easy to spot when you are browsing the area.
