    1

Download the App or Visit the Website

    ~15s
Search for Eventbrite in the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android) and install it for free. Alternatively, you can go to eventbrite.com on your computer — all features are available on the website as well.
    2

    Create a Free Account

    ~15s
Open the app and tap Sign Up. Enter your email address, create a password, and tap Create Account. You can also sign in with an existing Google or Facebook account if you prefer. Creating an account is free and only takes about a minute.
    3

    Search for Events Near You

    ~29s
Tap the Search or Discover tab. The app will ask for your location to show events nearby — tap Allow to let it use your location. You will see a list of upcoming events in your area. Use the filters at the top to narrow by category (such as Community or Music), date, or price (tap Free to see only free events).

    Quick Tip

Quick Tip: Tap the Categories filter and look for "Community & Culture" or "Science & Tech" for events like library workshops, cooking classes, and digital literacy sessions.

    4

    View Event Details

    ~18s
Tap any event to see its full description, the date and time, the location, and the cost. Most event pages also show whether spots are still available and how many people are planning to attend. Read the description carefully — it will tell you if you need to bring anything or register in advance.
    5

    Register or Buy a Ticket

    ~18s
For free events, tap Register. Select the number of tickets (usually 1) and tap Get Tickets. A confirmation will be sent to your email and your ticket will appear in the app under Tickets. For paid events, the process is the same but you will need to enter your payment information before completing registration.
    6

Find Your Ticket on the Day

    ~22s
Open the Eventbrite app on the day of the event and tap Tickets at the bottom. Your ticket will have a QR code (a square barcode) that the organizer can scan at the door. You can also show the confirmation email on your phone if needed.

    Quick Tip

Quick Tip: Take a screenshot of your ticket before leaving home, in case you lose internet access when you arrive.

Eventbrite is a free app and website that lists thousands of events happening in your area — from free community classes and outdoor festivals to paid concerts and workshops. It is used by event organizers of all kinds, from local libraries hosting book clubs to large concert venues selling tickets.

The app is free to download and free to use for browsing and registering for free events. For paid events, you purchase your ticket directly through Eventbrite and receive a confirmation email with a digital ticket that you show at the door.

Eventbrite is a good way to discover things to do in your community that you might not have found otherwise. Many events posted on Eventbrite are run by local community groups, churches, senior centers, libraries, and small businesses — the kind of events that do not always get covered in the local newspaper.

You can search by category (music, food and drink, arts, sports, outdoor, community) or by date (today, this weekend, this week) to find events that fit your schedule. You can also filter for free events only if you are looking for things to do without spending money.

Setting up an Eventbrite account is straightforward and only requires an email address. Once you have an account, your registered events are saved in one place so you can easily find the details and your ticket when the day comes.
