How to Use the CVS App and ExtraCare Rewards

The CVS app stores your ExtraCare card, tracks your rewards, lets you manage prescriptions, and gives you access to digital coupons — all in one place.

Download the CVS app and sign in

Search "CVS Pharmacy" in the App Store or Google Play. Download the app. Sign in with your CVS.com account, or create one by entering your email and an ExtraCare card number (or sign up for one during app setup).

Clip digital coupons

Tap "Deals" or "Coupons" in the app. Browse available coupons and tap "Clip" on any you want to use. Clipped coupons apply automatically at checkout with your ExtraCare card.

Check coupons before your weekly CVS trip — many cover items like vitamins, cleaning supplies, and personal care products.

Manage your prescriptions

Tap "Pharmacy" → "My Prescriptions" to see all medications on file. Tap "Refill" next to a prescription to request it. Choose pickup time or switch to mail delivery.

Check your ExtraBucks balance

Tap "Rewards" to see your current ExtraBucks balance. Rewards are printed on your receipt but are also visible in the app. Use them before the expiration date.

Warning

ExtraBucks expire — check the expiration date when you earn them. They typically expire 30 to 60 days after being issued.

Use the app at checkout

When checking out, open the CVS app and tap "My CVS" → "ExtraCare Card" to show your barcode. The cashier scans it, applying your clipped coupons and earning credit for this purchase.

: If your CVS has a MinuteClinic (walk-in medical clinic inside the pharmacy), you can view wait times and check in virtually through the app.

Digital ExtraCare card

: Your ExtraCare barcode is stored in the app. Scan it at checkout or give your phone number — no physical card needed.

ExtraCare membership is free. If you do not already have an account, you can sign up in the app or at the store. The cashier can look up your account by phone number.
