    1

Go to Amazon Pharmacy and set up your profile

    ~17s
In your browser, go to amazon.com/pharmacy, or open the Amazon app and search for "Pharmacy." Sign in with your Amazon account. Tap "Get Started" and fill out your date of birth, gender, and any allergies — this information is used for safety checks when filling prescriptions.
    2

    Add your insurance information

    ~19s
In the Pharmacy section, tap "Manage Insurance" and then "Add Insurance." Enter your insurance information from the front of your insurance card: the insurance company name, member ID, group number, and RxBIN (a 6-digit number on most pharmacy insurance cards). Amazon will verify your coverage.

    Quick Tip

If you have both a primary and secondary insurance, you can add both.

    3

Transfer a prescription from your current pharmacy

    ~19s
Tap "Transfer Prescriptions." Enter the name and phone number of your current pharmacy, plus the medication name and your date of birth. Amazon Pharmacy contacts your pharmacy directly to request the transfer. Most transfers complete within one to two business days. You will receive an email when your medication is ready to ship.
    4

Order refills and set up automatic refills

    ~16s
Once a prescription is in your Amazon Pharmacy profile, it appears under "My Medications." Tap "Order Refill" when you are running low. To avoid running out, tap "Auto Refill" to have Amazon automatically reorder and ship each refill before your current supply runs out.
    5

    Track your delivery

    ~22s
After placing an order, you can track it the same way you track any Amazon package. Go to "Orders" in your Amazon account and find your pharmacy order. Amazon Pharmacy ships prescriptions in plain, discreet packaging — no pharmacy branding on the outside.

    Warning

Amazon Pharmacy cannot fill controlled substances (such as opioids, benzodiazepines, or stimulants like Adderall) due to federal regulations. Continue filling those at a local pharmacy.

Amazon Pharmacy is a full-service pharmacy that lets you order prescription medications online and have them delivered to your home. It operates like any licensed pharmacy — it accepts most insurance plans, including Medicare Part D and many commercial plans — but you manage everything through the Amazon website or app instead of visiting a store.

To use Amazon Pharmacy, you need an existing Amazon account. If you already shop on Amazon, you use the same login. Go to amazon.com/pharmacy in your browser or look for "Pharmacy" in the Amazon app.

The first step is to add your insurance information to your Amazon Pharmacy profile. Go to the Pharmacy section, tap "Add Insurance," and enter your insurance card details (the information on the front of your card, including group number and member ID). Amazon Pharmacy will verify your coverage. If you do not have insurance or your plan is not accepted, you can still pay cash — Amazon Pharmacy's cash prices are often competitive.

To transfer a prescription from another pharmacy, tap "Transfer Prescriptions" and provide your current pharmacy's name and phone number, along with your medication information. Amazon contacts your pharmacy directly to handle the transfer. This usually takes one to two business days.

For a new prescription from your doctor, ask your doctor to send it electronically to "Amazon Pharmacy" — they can find it in their e-prescribing system — or have them print it and you can mail or upload it.

Amazon Prime members can sign up for RxPass, a $5 per month add-on that covers unlimited 30-day supplies of over 50 common generic medications. Medications covered include many for blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, anxiety, and other common conditions. If you take multiple generics, RxPass can save significant money.

Amazon Pharmacy uses HIPAA-compliant security and does not share your prescription history with Amazon's marketing systems.

Keep in mind that Amazon Pharmacy cannot fill controlled substances (like opioids or certain ADHD medications) or most specialty medications that require special handling. For those, you will still need a traditional pharmacy.

Delivery times vary by location. Prime members in many cities get free same-day or next-day delivery on eligible medications.
