Amazon released Alexa+ in 2025, a major upgrade to the Alexa voice assistant that powers Echo devices. The new version uses generative AI (similar to what powers ChatGPT) to have more natural conversations, remember context across a conversation, help with multi-step tasks, and connect with outside services like Grubhub, Uber, and Ticketmaster to take actions on your behalf. Alexa+ is available on Echo devices with a subscription or as part of Amazon Prime.
