    Check in for your flight online or in the airline app

    Go to the airline's website or open their app (American Airlines, Delta, United, etc.) 24 hours before your flight (some allow earlier check-in). Enter your confirmation number or log into your account. Complete the check-in process and select your seat.

    Find the "Add to Apple Wallet" button

    After check-in, your boarding pass is displayed. Look for a button that says "Add to Apple Wallet" or shows the Wallet logo (a white icon with colored cards). This button may appear immediately after check-in or in the email confirmation you receive.

    Add the pass

    Tap "Add to Apple Wallet." A preview of your boarding pass appears showing your name, flight number, gate, and seat. Tap "Add" in the top right. The pass is now saved in your Wallet app. You can find it anytime by opening Wallet or looking for it on your lock screen at the airport.

    Use it at the airport

    When you arrive at the airport, your boarding pass often appears automatically on your lock screen as a notification (your iPhone detects the airline location). Or open the Wallet app → tap the boarding pass → show the barcode to the TSA officer or gate agent scanner.

    Keep your brightness turned up at the scanner — a dim screen can cause scanner errors. Swipe up on the boarding pass to also see your luggage claim tags if they were included.

    Update the pass if the gate changes

    If your gate or flight time changes, the boarding pass in Wallet updates automatically (with internet access). You may also receive a Wallet notification about the change. Always confirm your current gate on the airport departure board before heading to security — updates propagate quickly but not instantly.
